Are there any wildcats based on 7.62x39?

It has a long tapered FMJ spitzer with a cavity in the tip, much like the 303 MkVII 174gn bullet, which induced tumbling upon impact and increased lethality. But has anyone played with this cartridge necking it 6.5 or 7mm, etc. and altering the case taper and shoulder angle. I could see it being an effective cartridge as a 7x39 Improved with a 35 degree shoulder mustering more power than a 7-30. You could also wind up the boost a little as it's a rimless round.

brn*lvr said: PPC's are based on the .220 Russian 7.62X39 necked down to 6mm or .22 would be a nice little wildcat.......

I had a friend give me a 100 pcs of 7.62X39 brass from when he used to shoot bench rest, I'm pretty sure he said he formed 6 mm PPC from it, I'll check with him tomorrow.

pr*sper said: Yeah, I think the 6mmPPC is about the ultimate 7.62x39 derivative - necked down & improved basically
